Lifetime Athletic (Raleigh, NC)
GeoTechnologies provided engineering, materials testing, and special inspection on this mega fitness facility. The complex is constructed on a site with very deep, low penetration resistance residual silts which would have required 80 foot piles. Specialized field testing and settlement analysis performed by GeoTechnologies allowed structure support on an intermediate stone column foundation saving the client substantial money.
aLoft Hotel (Raleigh, NC)
GeoTechnologies provided engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspections for the 7 story hotel and parking deck across from the bell tower at NC State University. Results of our geotechnical investigation allowed costs to be minimized by our recommendation of an intermediate aggregate pier system for the hotel and shallow foundation support for the deck.
Holy Name Of Jesus Cathedral (Raleigh, NC)
GeoTechnologies is providing engineering, construction materials testing as well as steel and special inspections on the $41 million cathedral. Following completion of standard test borings, dilatometer tests were performed within the proposed cathedral footprint to more accurately evaluate settlement potential which allowed the structure to be supported on standard shallow spread footing foundations thereby reducing foundation costs.
